It. Can. Wait.

Do you ever feel like your life is like that swing ride at the carnival? Starts and ends pretty slow, nice and leisurely as you go around and around… The tough part comes when the ride gets faster and you’re trying to not throw up, while holding on for dear life, strapped in with like a old school latch belt loop… which lets be honest, thats NOT going to do jack shit to keep you safe!

Right now… I’m holding on, for dear life, trying to not throw up while juggling knives.

I am VERY VERY blessed and lucky to be able to live the life I currently live. My fiancé is an incredible man, my family is great, my friends are tremendous and I have 2.5 amazing and beyond rewarding jobs! Still, it can sometimes get to be just a LITTLE too much.

Shout out to the 21 year old at work the other night who told me I looked EXHAUSTED… Thanks. What gave it away??? Could it possibly be the deep, dark, purple circles under my eyes????

My weekly life looks like this…

  • Do the dishes
  • Do the laundry
  • Keep the house moderately clean
  • Hang out with hubby
  • Play with the cats
    • Feed the cats
    • Clean up after the cats…
  • Go to work
  • Go to second job
  • Work on building dōTERRA business
  • Plan a wedding
  • Shower
  • Wash hair <— Basically 99.9 % dry-shampoo at this point….
  • Have a social life <– only until 7pm…
  • Talk to my mom
  • Call my grandma
  • Call my sister
  • See MIL
  • Respond to emails
  • Try to cover the bags under eyes…
  • Eat Healthy
  • Exercise
  • Get a root canal
  • Visit the dentist like 85 times…
  • Figure out how to make 1 million dollars….

The fact that our wedding is in 5 months has become very real recently… especially when my sister / MOH called me out for eating like a complete ASS and reminded me my wedding was 5 months away and it’s time to get serious…. HOW THE HELL IS IT 5 MONTHS AWAY… 

While everything has been planned, and is all set, Spring and Summer is always a crazy time for me and there’s something about April that makes me have regular anxiety attacks… probably because by the end of April, nearly every weekend of the Spring and Summer will be accounted for (and thats a normal year…) this Summer is THAT much busier.


At this point, if you’re still reading… GOD BLESS YOU. Thank you for letting me vent… I needed it. But you’re also probably wondering, WTF, what’s the point of this post???

Here’s the point. Life is chaotic. Time FLIES… you look up from the day to day minutia and realize that your previously 18 month long engagement is now a meer 5 months away!

Work is ALWAYS going to be crazy, if it’s not planning a wedding, it’s chasing kids… There will always be laundry to do, a dirty house and work to get done, but when you feel yourself spinning, hit the breaks, take 5 minutes or a day… WHATEVER you can allow and count your blessings.

There is ALWAYS something that needs to be done, but taking time for yourself is the MOST important. I always remember that little tidbit when its almost too late and I’m spinning out of control, but I am trying to do better. It also helps to surround yourself with a tribe of people who lift you up no matter how low you are and truly care about your mental wellbeing. And fluffy cats…


Remember why you work as hard as you do… remember all the great things you have in your life and thank the universe or whatever god you pray to for them. Cry if you want to… I LOVE a good cry and sometimes that release is all you need.

If sleep is what you need, SLEEP. Shut off your phone and sleep. Take a mental health day or couple hours and for my loves who have kiddos… THEY WILL BE FINE – send them to grandma and do something for yourself… Your kids will be better off!

Top Right on the Slide…. thats ME…

Remember your younger “more fun” self… Even though your grown up self has more responsibilities and duties… Do something fun, even if now that means getting a massage and having a boozy lunch vs getting day drunk and going down a slip N slide in your clothes!


So. Whether you do yoga, meditate, breathe in ALL the oils, drink heavily, sleep, laugh, cry, shop, write, walk, exercise… whatever you do to take a break, remember its OK to take a break in the action. That email can wait an hour… the call can be returned… you are no good to ANYONE if you’re spiraling out of control, and sometimes you have to put yourself first.

^Yes I need to learn to do this more… But whats the saying? “Those who can’t do teach”???
